Incumbents Good for Harwinton
By Virginia Rizzo, Myrtle Beach, SC

I have returned to Harwinton for a visit and have some observations to share as a former resident. Coming from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, one of the fastest-growing areas of the nation, I find Harwinton a refreshing respite from the fast lane of life. To be sure, Harwinton has grown in the four years that I have been gone, but the growth is subtle and well-integrated within rural town living. I see improvements in bridges, road safety, historic preservation, the golf course—all of which contribute to the integrity of this town. I don't see sprawling shopping malls, crowded housing developments, and the super highways of Myrtle Beach.

Therein lies the charm of the Harwinton I once knew and, thankfully, the Harwinton I am enjoying today. When I left this town four years ago, the incumbents were Knudsen and Scarpelli. I am not surprised that they are still the incumbents. I think it is obvious whom to vote into office for the continued well-being of this town.
