Thank You, Mayor Arcelaschi

I recently received a farewell thank you letter that Mayor John Arcelaschi wrote to thank me for serving as a volunteer for the Town of Winsted. I would like to in return thank John for the eight years that he served as our Mayor.
John restored a sense of decorum to the town meeting process that had been lost in the previous administrations. He has dealt with many difficult situations with fairness and has restored dignity to the position of Mayor. He has always used his own underlying integrity as a basis for what was needed and best for the Town of Winchester.
I thank him personally for participating each year in the Laurel Weekend and taking time on Sunday to ride in our parade and always being the first to ask, "Is there anything else I can do for you?"
I hope that all those who may follow in his footsteps heed his fine example of what can be accomplished with a level head and a sense of fair play.
