Warner Theatre, 68 Main St. in Torrington presents the Broadway musical "A CHORUS LINE" on Friday and Saturday, November 16-17 at 8 p.m. Directed by Donna Bonasera of Connecticut Dance Theatre, the story is about the audition process and the lives of dancers and singers trying to make it to Broadway. Northwestern Regional High School, 100 Battistoni Dr. in Winsted hosts the Northwestern Theatre presentation of Arthur Miller's "THE CRUCIBLE" on Friday and Saturday, November 16-17 at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, November 18 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $9 for Friday's gala performance, which features an onstage reception following the production; tickets for Saturday and Sunday are $8. Warner Theatre Center for Arts Education presents "THROUGH A CHILD'S EYES" on Friday, November 16 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, November 17 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, November 18 at 2 p.m. at the Warner Studio Theatre, 69 Main St. in Torrington. With monologues, poetry and songs written by the incredibly talented Val Vitalo, original staging by Barry Hughson, musical arrangements by Mat Saidel and stage direction by Sandy Parente, this amazing production is a must-see for the whole family. The cast consists of 33 students from the Warner Theatre Center for Arts Education. Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts presents "DANETTA AND THE MAGIC CLOTH" on Sunday, November 18 at 2 p.m. in the Black Box Theater on the Learning Corridor campus, 359 Washington St. in Hartford. The story is based on an African legend about a magic cloth that will bring success and wisdom. After the village chieftain disappears, a young girl, Danetta, sets out to find him. On her quest she uncovers secrets that rescue the village from starvation. She must put aside her preconceived notions about appearance and battle with her fears of the unknown. Bushnell Center for Performing Arts, 166 Capitol Ave. in Hartford presents "KISS ME KATE" starring Rex Smith and Rachel York on November 20-25. Performance times are Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. As one of Broadway's most beloved musicals, with music and lyrics by Cole Porter and book by Sam and Bella Spewack, this comedy features a classic score with some of Cole Porter's biggest hits. Set backstage during an out-of-town tryout for a musical based on Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew," egotistical actor-producer Fred Graham (Smith) and his ex-wife, Lili Vanessi (York) bicker and romance their way through this timeless story. Clockwork Repertory Theatre, 133 Main St. in Oakville presents "TAKE A NUMBER DARLING" by Jack Sharkey on Fridays through November 23 and Saturdays through December 1 at 8:15 p.m. Sometimes subtle, sometimes overwhelmingly hysterical, this fast-paced bundle of nervous energy played "loud and long" Off-Broadway, and has been a hit on stages throughout the country and in Europe for many years. Seven Angels Theatre, located at Hamilton Park Pavilion, Plank Road in Waterbury presents "BREAKING OUT OF SUNSET PLACE" by Patricia Barry Rumble through December 2. Shows times are Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m., and Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. Feisty Maudie and soft-spoken Emmy decide they've had enough of their retirement home and decide to break out.
