COLEBROOK: Senior Center activities–Christmas Craft Fair from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

LITCHFIELD: Lourdes in Litchfield, Route 118 (east of the Litchfield Green) offers Candlelight Christmas Caroling outdoors at the Grotto at 7 p.m. The Grotto will be lit with candles as we gather around the manger to hear the story of Jesus’ birth and to sing songs in thanks for the coming of Christ among us. After the Christmas caroling, hot chocolate and cookies will be served in Pilgrim Hall. Free, and all are welcome; for more info call 860-567-1041.

TORRINGTON: Holy Trinity Church, 64 Berry St. (one block west of Migeon Ave.) holds its annual Christmas Kolach and Christmas Cookie Bake Sale from 9 a.m.-noon. In addition to the wide variety of baked goods, the Slavic specialty kolach will be available in walnut, poppy seed and lekvar (prune) filling. Reserve your order by calling 482-6100 or 489-9946.

TORRINGTON: Concordia Lodge #20 Sons of Italy, 34 Center St. holds early bingo at 1 p.m. and regular bingo at 2 p.m., with progressive jackpot and refreshments. Doors open at 11 a.m.

LITCHFIELD: Lourdes in Litchfield, Route 118 (east of the Litchfield Green) presents its Living Nativity outdoors at the Grotto from 3-5 p.m. Young people from the area will enact the Christmas story with the help of sheep, llamas, donkeys, and a choir of angels. As the animals surround their newborn King, the real meaning and mystery of the Christmas season will be told in story and song. Hot chocolate served in Pilgrim Hall will provide warmth. TORRINGTON: First Connecticut Open Bible Church, 139 New Litchfield St. presents a special inspirational service including carols, scriptures and special solos at 10:30 a.m. The public is welcome.

TORRINGTON: First United Methodist Church, 27 Fern Dr. holds Christmas Caroling for shut-in members and friends of the church from 3-5 p.m. For more info call 489-8084.

TORRINGTON: Christmas Village holds a special day for Silent Santa from 5-8:30 p.m. Santa will be signing for all deaf or hearing-impaired persons, but everyone is welcome.

TORRINGTON: Litchfield County Women’s Network meets at 5:30 p.m. at the Nutmeg Conservatory on Main St. Hot hors d’oeuvres will be served, with music provided by members of the Conservatory. A guided tour of the new facility will be available. Attendees are requested to bring a $10 grab bag gift for the exchange game. Cost is $25; registration deadline is December 14. EAST CANAAN: North Canaan Congregational Church on Route 44 offers a "Blue Christmas" service of comfort, healing and hope at 7 p.m. The days of Advent and Christmas are not always merry or happy for everyone. The focus of this service will be acknowledging and supporting those in our midst and those in our world who experience pain, grief or depression during this time.
