The Indoor Outhouse
By Raymond Wilcox, Torrington
There exists an old Armenian saying that says, "You can take a boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy."
So goes the story of the transplanted lad who removed the lid of the W.C. seat for use as a cutting board, and the oval for a picture frame of beloved parents, while the flush became a foot bath.
Recently, the Missus purchased, at no little and quite some expense, an enclosed chamber—complete with recyclable organic litter—for the country cat. Queen Mum inspected the contraption with great interest and curiosity, and it has become a private retreat and napping place.
The experience above confirms that the ancient Armenian knowledge applies to both man and beast.
