Holiday Art Show at Beekley Library
By Bob Raymond, New Hartford

This year’s Holiday Art Show in New Hartford holds as much promise of success as last year’s show. It will take place in the New Hartford Library, which was recently renamed the Licia and Mason Beekley Community Library. The library’s renaming ceremony was splendid, and there was a large turnout.

Once again, the children chose (for the most part) the Christmas theme of the show, which is sponsored by the Ann Raymond Center for the Arts. But children have their own little secrets, as you might well know, and there are surprises to see this time. The interest, enthusiasm and excitement of the students have been translated into something to be proud of. The striking part of this year’s show is the encouragement and support the parents have given these kids. Hope returns; the future smiles.

The display will continue through the first of the year. The library will be closed on Saturday, December 22 and Tuesdays, December 25 and January 1. Hours on Wednesday through Friday, December 26-28 are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The library will be open on Saturday, December 29 from 9 a.m.-noon. For more info call 860-379-7235.
