LITCHFIELD: Community Center adult activities–"Dante’s Inferno" lecture series with Dona Killiany begins from 9:15-11:15 a.m. (cost is $40 for 6 weeks); exercise class at 10:30 a.m.; Peacemakers group meets at 12:30 p.m.

SHEFFIELD: Sheffield Senior Center activities–movies (bring lunch) at noon.

WINSTED: McCarthy Senior Center activities–crafts with Alice LeVesque at 10 a.m.; lunch at noon; bingo with Evelyn Ruffenach at 1 p.m.

LITCHFIELD: Community Center adult activities–free workshop on employment transition and financial advice for BE Aerospace employees from 1-3 p.m.

TORRINGTON: Concordia Lodge #20 Sons of Italy, 34 Center St. holds early bingo at 1 p.m. and regular bingo at 2 p.m., with progressive jackpot and refreshments. Doors open at 11 a.m.

 

Sunday, January 6

RIVERTON: Turkey Dinner served family style at the Riverton Grange Hall from noon-1:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 adults, $3.50 children. For reservations call Phyllis Bierce at 379-4064, or Gladys Anstett at 379-6302.

TORRINGTON: St. Peter’s Church, 107 East Main St. celebrates Mass in Spanish at 1 p.m.

 

Monday, January 7

COLEBROOK: Senior Center activities–Rubber Stamping Club at 10 a.m.; lunch at noon (call 738-9521 by noon Friday for reservations).

LITCHFIELD: Community Center adult activities–yoga at 11 a.m.; movie "The Wedding Planner" at 1 p.m.; Weight Watchers meeting at 5 p.m.; chess for all ages and levels from 7-9 p.m.

 

Tuesday, January 8

COLEBROOK: Senior Center activities–exercise with Jan from 9-9:30 a.m.; lunch at noon (call 738-9521 by noon Monday for reservations); CL&P bingo at 12:30 p.m.

LITCHFIELD: Community Center adult activities–painting with friends (all welcome, bring your own project) from 9 a.m.-noon; bingo at 1 p.m.; computer class from 1-3 p.m.

TORRINGTON: The Northwest Chapter of the CT Green Party meets at 7:30 p.m. in Room 206A at Torrington City Hall. All are invited; for more info call 860-496-8947.

TORRINGTON: Litchfield County Business and Professional Women’s Club meets at the Venetian Restaurant with networking at 5:30 p.m., a business meeting at 6 p.m., and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Regular and new members are invited to showcase their businesses at 7:30 p.m. Dinner cost is $22; reservations required by January 7. GOSHEN: A caucus of registered Democratic voters of Goshen will be held at 7 p.m. in the Goshen Town Hall Conference Room. The meeting agenda includes the endorsement of members of the Democratic Town Committee, and the transaction of other business as may be proper to bring before said caucus. LITCHFIELD: Community Center adult activities–blood pressure screening at 9:30 a.m.; creative writing group from 10 a.m.-noon.

NEW HARTFORD: A Community Clothing Swap will be held at North Congregational Church from 1-4 p.m. Bring your gently used clothing and shoes to trade for items swapped in by others. Hundreds of fall and winter items are available for children, women and men. This ongoing event is free and open to the public; for more info call 307-7874.
