GOSHEN: A caucus of registered Democratic voters of Goshen will be held at 7 p.m. in the Goshen Town Hall Conference Room. The meeting agenda includes the endorsement of members of the Democratic Town Committee, and the transaction of other business as may be proper to bring before said caucus. WEST HARTFORD: St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 872 Farmington Ave. hosts "Liberty and Security on the Homefront: Staying Safe and Staying Free," a public forum and discussion facilitated by the CT Forum at 7 p.m. As America addresses the demanding security challenges before us, we also strive to guard our values and basic rights. Where is the balance? Panelists include U.S. Representative Rob Simmons; Teresa Younger, Executive Director of the CT Civil Liberties Union; John A. LITCHFIELD: The Thomaston Methodist and Litchfield Methodist youth group sponsors a Pasta Dinner at the Litchfield Methodist Church. Menu includes pasta, meatballs, salad, dessert, rolls and beverage. Cost is $6 adults, $5 seniors, $4 children (12 and under); proceeds will benefit the youth retreat to take place in early February.

TORRINGTON: Concordia Lodge #20 Sons of Italy, 34 Center St. holds early bingo at 1 p.m. and regular bingo at 2 p.m., with progressive jackpot and refreshments. Doors open at 11 a.m.

TORRINGTON: Trinity Episcopal Church, 220 Prospect St. hosts a program on Energy Conservation and Electric Choice for Churches and Faith Communities at 7 p.m. Your faith community can make a difference. Find out about Green-E electricity generated from renewable sources, energy conservation programs for churches, electric choice available in Connecticut, and health issues related to air quality and electric generation. Participating organizations include Episcopal Power and Light, CL&P Small Business Energy Advantage Program, Center for Resource Solutions, Toxic Action Center, Green Mountain Energy, and CT Energy Co-operative. MORRIS: South Farms-Morris AARP Chapter #4987 holds its monthly meeting at 1:15 p.m. at the Morris Senior Center. Guest speaker will be Susan Binelli, Director of Rose Haven Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility in Litchfield, who will address the concerns of people who may have to receive care that rehabilitation and nursing homes provide. Questions such as the average stay for patients recovering from major illness or surgery, types of programs provided to patients in assisting toward recovery, cost of services and numerous other concerns will be addressed.
