Leave It on the Shelf
By Charles Smith, Thomaston
Kudos to Shaw Izikson of Winsted for his "Proudly American-Made in Taiwan" article in the February 1 issue of The Voice. He certainly brings up valuable points that certain manufacturers, sellers and consumers would rather not hear or think about.
When we knowingly buy and salute a flag from a communist country, we as a unit who would buy such a thing certainly have nothing to feel positive or patriotic about. I would liken it to buying Bibles from communists. That we would buy such an item from someone who may not believe in its concepts and values shows just how low "we" have sunk in our quest for a good profit margin. I'm glad some people know a smoke screen when they see one!
As far as I'm concerned, when I see such blasphemous, inflammatory smut for sale, I leave it on the shelf to collect dust. When it gets dusty enough, then the peddlers of these goods will get the message.
