An Update from "Tiger Cat"
By Barbara Miller, Goshen

Barbara Miller and "Tiger Cat" have written two earlier pieces on the plight of Tiger Cat and her kittens: Waiting Kitty Need Help, December 7; and Thanks from 'Tiger Cat', December 21.

When my babies began to get out of our box, we were all moved from the workshop closet to the basement room of the house. I was so happy to have a whole room, and my babies were happy, too. They played and soon learned to eat food and to use the litter pan. They grew to be little kittens, and people came to see them.

I thought this was good until one day two nice girls came back and took two of them away. The next day a couple came. I thought they had been here before, too. Yes, they came back to take their favorite kitten to their home. So then I had only one of my babies with me. Sometimes I cried and searched around and hoped the others would hear me and come home. I was sad. I wasn't even allowed to go outdoors anymore, because Tom came around looking for me again.

But I have to tell you the good news! Remember the little girl across the street who wanted me all along? She came to see me several times and brought her mom and dad too. After she had named me "Tiger," she named her favorite kitten "White Paws." (Names subject to change per Caroline.) Then she and her mother came one day with a cozy basket and took us both home to live at their house!

I have gotten out a couple of times and run over to see my old friends, who are our neighbors now. They won't feed me anymore or even let me in their house, but I'm happy to live with Caroline now. (I heard them say the doctor will do something to me so Tom won't want to visit anymore, and I won't have any more babies to be taken away again.)

The neighbor lady says she will keep your phone numbers to call when the next stray and lonely cat comes around. She thanks each of you for offering us a home, and I thank you for caring about me and my babies. God bless you all.

P.S. — The neighbor says there was a beautiful black and white cat crying and crying on the deck last night. If it comes back, the lady may be calling one of you to find it a good home …
