Gilbert Alumni and Friends Band

The Gilbert School Alumni and Friends Concert Band would like to invite area adult musicians who play a wind or percussion instrument to dust off their instruments and join them! The Concert Band, sponsored by the W.L. Gilbert Trust Corporation and represented by the Gilbert School Alumni Office, is planning a weekend of fun and rehearsals, culminating in a public performance at the school scheduled for late April. The Band's music director and conductor is retired Gilbert School band director Edward F. Keeley.

The Concert Band was initially formed to perform at the Gilbert School Homecoming and Dedication in October 2001. More than 60 alumni musicians came together from all over New England and beyond to give an outstanding performance at that very special occasion. The group would like to continue to play together and to provide a way for area musicians to renew or keep up their performance skills by gathering occasionally for rehearsals and public performances.

Any adult who plays a wind or percussion instrument and is interested in performing significant band literature with this group should call the Gilbert School Alumni Office at 860-738-9439 by March 1 for details and an application form.
