WINSTED: Faith Bible Church, 368 Main St. hosts a Sportsman’s Dinner from 6-9:30 p.m. Menu includes appetizers, green salad, turkey and ham, rice pilaf, vegetables and homemade desserts. Charles Alsheimer, who has been writing for "Deer and Deer Hunting" magazine since the late 1970s, will speak on "Whitetail Behavior Through the Seasons" at 7:30 p.m. An offering of $5 is suggested to help defray costs; to reserve a seat call 860-379-0617.

GREAT BARRINGTON: Simon’s Rock College holds a Discovery Day open house for prospective students and their families to tour the campus and attend a class; meet at Blodget House at 9:30 a.m. Free; for more info and reservations, call 413-528-7355.

LITCHFIELD: Community Center activities–yoga at 9:30 a.m.; opera lecture series from 10 a.m.-noon; corned beef and cabbage fundraiser for field hockey ($8 per person, $30 maximum for family) from 4-8 p.m.

TORRINGTON: Concordia Lodge #20 Sons of Italy, 34 Center St. holds early bingo at 1 p.m. and regular bingo at 2 p.m., with progressive jackpot and refreshments. Doors open at 11 a.m.

WINSTED: The Gilbert School Leo Club, sponsored by the Winsted Lions Club, offers an all-you-can-eat Pasta Dinner from 5-7 p.m. in the school cafeteria, located at 200 Williams Ave. Tickets are $5 adults, $2.50 children (under 6); take-outs will be available. FALLS VILLAGE: Falls Village Day Care Center hosts a Shepherd’s Pie Luncheon from noon-3 p.m. at the Falls Village Senior Center on Main St. Menu includes shepherd’s pie with rich brown gravy, braised cabbage, Irish soda bread, beverage and dessert; a pasta plate will be available for children. Both buffet service and take-out will be available. Live traditional music will be performed by Wild Abandon from 1-3 p.m. Tickets are $10 adults, $4 children (ages 5-12), under 5 free; proceeds will help purchase items needed for various programs at the Day Care Center. LITCHFIELD: Lubavitch of Litchfield County hosts a Passover Experience at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the Litchfield County Jewish Community Center, 367 Bantam Rd. Each presentation of the Passover Experience is comprised of three different segments which aim to teach children and adults the meaning of this Jewish holiday. The Matzah Bakery is modeled after an authentic brick oven bakery; participants can winnow and grind wheat stalks into flour, knead and roll the dough, then bake and finally enjoy their very own fresh matzah. The Video Theatre features popular educational Passover productions. The Arts and Crafts Workshop enables participants to "get creative" and bring home a bit of the spirit of the holiday in a sand-art portrayal of Passover. NORTHFIELD: Northfield Volunteer Fire Company, 12 Main St. holds a Breakfast from 7:30-11 a.m. The regular menu includes all the pancakes you can eat, sausage, coffee and juice for $4; French toast, eggs and home fries will also be available. WINSTED: New Hartford Lions Club holds its 10th annual Northwest CT Antiques and Collectibles Show from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at Northwest Regional High School. There will be a large number of dealers, and appraisers will be available. Admission is $4.50, or $4 with a discount coupon; early buying from 8:30-9:30 a.m. costs $10.
