SHARON: Church Women United sponsor a luncheon to celebrate May Friendship Day at noon in the Parish House of Christ Church Episcopal, 9 South Main St. May Friendship Day is an annual event that is observed by Protestant, Roman Catholic, Orthodox and other Christian women in a common worship experience for the purpose of building and strengthening friendly relations within the community. The theme for this years service is "Sharing Our Stories, Healing Our Hearts, Celebrating Gods Love." Women of all faiths are invited to attend. There is no charge, but reservations are required by calling Francoise Kelz at 860-364-5842 before May 1.
WINSTED: Winsted AARP #1051 meets at 1:30 p.m. in the recreation room at Chestnut Grove. Election of officers will take place. Mr. Fred Newman of the Winsted Housing Authority will speak about the plans for expansion of Winsteds senior housing. The Board of Directors will meet at 12:30 p.m.

It is anticipated that Congressman John Larson and gubernatorial candidate William Curry will appear; other state candidates have also been invited.
