MORRIS: A family-style Roast Beef Dinner will be served from 4:30-7 p.m. at the Morris Community Center on Route 109 to benefit the Morris Congregational Church. The all-you-can-eat menu includes roast beef, mashed potatoes with gravy, salad, vegetable, rolls, beverage, and homemade pies and desserts. LITCHFIELD: Lourdes in Litchfield, Route 118 (east of the Litchfield Green) holds its annual Blessing of the Mothers during 11:30 a.m. Mass outside at the Grotto. People can help single mothers by bringing items for newborn babies. A portion of the collection will go to the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist to assist in their pro-life ministries. TORRINGTON: Burrville Volunteer Fire Dept. holds a Mother’s Day Brunch from 8 a.m.-noon at the Burrville Firehouse. WINSTED: St. Joseph’s Church holds a special Mass at 11 a.m. to administer the Sacrament of the Sick. The elderly and those with serious and chronic illnesses are invited to receive this sacrament. The event is coordinated by the Samaritans of St. Joseph parish; other parish members will provide transportation and assistance. WINSTED: First Church of Winsted, 95 Park Place holds its annual Ziti Supper with continuous servings from 4-6 p.m. This event has traditionally been a regular stop for the families of Pet Parade participants, with First Church being conveniently located along East End Park, where the parade finishes. Supper includes meat sauce, salad, bread, cake and beverages. Cost is $5 adults, $3 children (ages 4-12), ages 3 and under free; profits benefit the church’s scholarship funds.
