There will be 100 dealer spaces available on the parking lot in front of Ames; vendors are welcome to see and buy, and tailgate selling from cars and vans is permitted. Exhibitors and dealers both locally and statewide are invited to show and sell items such as antiques, crafts and collectibles, from antique furniture, arts and crafts, toys and doll houses, to glassware, antique clothes, books, movie posters and all kinds of collectible merchandise and memorabilia. This is the Barkhamsted Historical Society’s sixth season sponsoring flea markets to benefit the organization's restoration projects; over the past five years, some 2,000 visitors have attended the organization's shows in search of special pieces and also some attractive bargains.
Adult admission is a $1 donation to the Historical Society, children (under 12) are free; early bird admission is a $5 donation for adults. Dealer spaces are provided by the Barkhamsted Historical Society for a minimum donation of $25 and must be arranged in advance; for more info contact events chairman Charles Lynes in care of the Barkhamsted Historical Society, PO Box 94, Pleasant Valley, CT 06063; or call 860-379-7362. The organization also plans a Fall Flea Market at the same location on Saturday, September 7.
