Thanks for Laurel Scholarship Donations
By Natalie Attianese, Winsted

The Laurel City Commission wishes to thank the following for their donations to the Laurel Scholarship Fund. Without the generosity of local merchants and industry we would not be able to achieve our goal of increasing our scholarship awards. Because of these donations, our scholarships this year will be $1,000 to the Laurel Queen, $800 to the first runner-up, and $500 to the second runner-up.

Thank you to our partner, Northwest Community Bank, for the donation of the second runner-up scholarship award of $500; to Bomar Specialties Company for their donation of $150 or more; and to Painful Pleasure Tattooing, BNB Manufacturing Co., Moore & Alvord, William P. Ryan D.M.D., Winchester Modular Housing, Inc., and Theodore Marolda, D.D.S. for their donations of $100 or more.

Donations of $50 or more were made by V.F.W. Seicheprey Post, Normand Lallier, Riiska & Welcome LLC, Winsted Dairy Queen, Winsted Internal Medicine, SOC Construction, St. Andrews Lodge #64 AF & AM, and Kehow Tribe # 39. Donations of $10 or more were made by Gail A. DiMaggio CPA, Dick’s Barber Shop, John Gilley Building, AD-COMM Ink, Green Woods Garden Club, Actex Publications, Winsted Super Saver, Laurel City Coins & Antiques, Rose M. Sullivan’s Shoppe, Inc., Vaccari’s Young Fashions, Valley Thrift Shop, Small Town Shops (Getting Off), Garibaldi Society, Fumire’s Automotive LLC, Daughters of Italy, and Nalette Elevator.
