For the Common Good

The corporate self-dealers, morally obtuse
have nearly killed free enterprise’s golden goose.
This 4th of July there clearly lurks
long lines of fired workers, along with fireworks.
Is there no VIP to honor Madison, up there in heaven,
by reaffirming the message of Federalist 57?
A message that, it’s pretty clear to me,
carries the essence of American liberty:
For the common good; not tyranny.
