The Podunk Bluegrass Music Festival is a nonprofit organization. The festival will kick off on Thursday night, July the 25 in Martin Park. This year's line-up features a rare reunion of Seldom Scene, who will be joined by Jonathan Edwards and Vassar Clements. The three-day event begins at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday with an opening by Thunder Mountain Bluegrass followed by Connecticut's own Amy Gallatin and Stillwaters. On Friday music begins at 3:30 p.m. with an open Bluegrass-Scramble. At 5:30 p.m. Blistered Fingers from Maine take the stage, followed with an encore by Thunder Mountain Bluegrass. Then it's The Larkins from Tennessee, who present a great show that highlights Traditional Bluegrass, which will lead nicely into Friday's closing act, the Dry Branch Fire Squad from California.
On Saturday at 10 a.m., Dale Ann Bradley and Coon Creek from Kentucky open the day, which continues with performances by Auldridge, Bennett and Gaudreau, the Larry Stephenson Band, The Larkins and Blistered Fingers. At roughly 5:45 p.m. Northern Lights will perform, with the legendary fiddler 75-year-old Vassar Clements, followed by Jonathan Edwards and special guest Kenny White. Northern Lights returns for a set with Mr. Edwards and sets the stage for a reunion of the surviving original members of Seldom Scene, featuring Tom Gray, John Starling, Ben Eldridge, and Mike Auldridge with Larry Stepheson. Seldom Scene will also be joined by Vassar Clements and Jonathan Edwards.
