Torrington Area Foundation Receives Second Anonymous Fund

The Torrington Area Foundation for Public Giving has received a second anonymous fund from a generous resident of the area. Living in the northwest of Connecticut is a most caring but quiet Yankee who has donated an initial $50,000 to establish the Keroden Designated Fund at the Foundation. The donor has designated Charlotte Hungerford Hospital to benefit from this fund in the form of a yearly grant beginning in 2003. Only the grantor knows the significance of the name Keroden. The significance to the region will be an increased ability of Charlotte Hungerford Hospital to meet the needs of our citizens.

This same anonymous donor previously created a permanent fund at the Foundation, the Keroden Endowed Fund, which is an unrestricted fund with all grant decisions left to the discretion of the Foundation’s board. The donor intends to add to both funds each year, thereby building their power to do good. Rather than just looking back at past accomplishments, this donor is a visionary, looking forward to things that can yet be done for the community. The positive impact of these two permanent Keroden funds will be felt through northwest Connecticut for generations to come.

The Torrington Area Foundation for Public Giving serves the towns of Barkhamsted, Colebrook, Cornwall, Falls Village, Goshen, Hartland, Harwinton, Litchfield, New Hartford, Norfolk, Torrington and Winsted; for more info call 860-626-1245.
