Hooptalk Named Best Cable Show
Charter Communityvision 13 in Winsted is pleased to announce that Hooptalk has received the "Best New Show" award for the 2001-02 television season. This first annual award is given to a locally produced community access program that maintains high production values and commitment to its program goals.
Hooptalk premiered on November 8, 2001 and for the next 26 weeks provided viewers with the latest information and insights on all aspects of the NBA. Host and producer Noah Heiber, a student at the Ann Antolini School in New Hartford, also commented on collegiate standings as they became headline material. In addition to a rotating cast of co-hosts, special guests included former UConn men’s basketball players Murray Williams and John Gwynn.
In addition to Noah, his parents and older brother Max provide production support. Their duties include studio management, video switching, and character generator operation. Training in these areas was provided by Charter Communityvision 13.
Hooptalk is scheduled to return to its regular Thursday at 6 p.m. time slot as it begins its second season on November 7. Those interested in starting their own television program are encouraged to call Charter Communityvision 13 at 860-738-5090 for more info.
