The annual Riverton Grange Fair will be held on Saturday, September 7 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Grange Hall on Route 20. Members and non-members are invited to enter exhibits for judging. There is no cost to exhibit, and ribbons and prizes will be awarded.

Categories and their chairpersons include: vegetables and fruits—Gail Prelli; flowers and houseplants—Dorothy O’Connor; baked goods—Phyllis Bierce; canned goods—Virginia Jespersen; sewing, needlework and handcrafts—Annmarie and Gene Janczak. Other contests which may be entered include the state junior baking contest for chocolate chip cookies; the adult contest for orange chiffon cake; the state quilt contest for adults and juniors; and the Litchfield County Council of Fairs handcrafted wind chimes contest. All contests and recipes are described in the fair booklet, which is available from any Grange member, or by calling Mark and Cindy Prelli at 860-379-2493.

Tag sale space is also available for a fee; anyone interested may call Diana Gray at 860-379-4468. In addition, a light lunch will be served during fair hours.
