Betsy L. Bertoli Scholarship Fund
Betsy Bertoli’s life was cut short last year as she was walking with a friend on Kennedy Drive in Torrington. In response to this tragedy, family and friends established the Betsy L. Bertoli Scholarship Fund at the Torrington Area Foundation for Public Giving. Students graduating from Torrington High School and pursuing a career in accounting or business administration/ management may apply for a scholarship in her name.
Betsy’s life-long embrace of community is reflected in the fund created to honor her. It was love that filled Betsy’s heart and she shared it with all who knew her. All were welcomed into her home with a hug and a kiss on the cheek. She surrounded herself with the love of family and friends. She loved her grandchildren, flowers, the color blue, Christmas, decorating, music and dancing, tea with friends, traveling, the sun and the beach, sitting on the deck on warm summer nights, her job, people, and laughter. Simply put, she loved to love.
