Kent Memorial Library News
One Book, One Town
Kent Memorial Library is launching a new community program called "Kent Reads: One Book, One Town." The library chose Mark Twain’s A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court and will mail a copy to every household in the Town of Kent. Kent’s three boarding schools will receive copies for their students and faculty, as well.
The library and members of the community have planned programs, such as literary discussions for adults and children, art lectures and classes, exhibits, music, food, drama, movies, stories, games, puzzles and more—all inspired by Twain’s A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court. All of these programs are possible because of the enthusiasm and the willingness of Kent residents to share their interests and talents with their community.
So, one morning in mid-September, the residents of Kent should find in their mailboxes a copy of A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court. The project is made possible through the generosity of Dover Publications, Wal-Mart, William Paul Dooley Associates, Kent Lion’s Club, the NewMil Bank Foundation, Kent Chamber of Commerce, The Kent, Kent Grange, and anonymous donors.
