Weekend Hours at CJR Roadside Market
Connecticut Junior Republic’s Roadside Market will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. through the end of October. Fresh produce will vary from day to day, depending on the growing season. Autumn produce, including chrysanthemums, pumpkins and cornstalks, apples and apple cider, as well as blue Hubbard, acorn and butternut squash are currently available. Fresh eggs are available by reservation.
Foods produced by CJR’s culinary arts class, including pie and cookie mixes, dry rubs for grilling and roasting meats, and baked goods will be sold at the market. Additional products include bird houses and feeders, note cards, various crafts, items such as wind chimes, hand-tooled belts and leatherwork, ceramics, decorative tiles, furniture, shelves, Adirondack chairs, candles, artwork, holiday decorations and other items from CJR’s vocational classes. Proceeds from sales fund the Junior Republic’s vocational program and benefit Junior Republic students.
