Walter Gengarelly on Ballot in 5th District
The Libertarian Party of Connecticut announces that Walter Gengarelly is on the ballot and running in the new 5th Congressional District. Candidate Gengarelly has lived and worked in Connecticut for the last 28 years, having moved from Vermont to Ridgefield in 1974. He has worked in Danbury since 1987, and moved from Ridgefield to Newtown earlier this year. He is a licensed commercially-rated pilot and flight instructor, a retired advertising representative, a U.S. Army artillery veteran, and the father of two grown sons, Walter III and Gregory. He was the 1982 candidate for Governor of Connecticut.
Gengarelly’s platform includes (1) increasing parental and individual control in education; (2) working to end government interference in health care; (3) preventing the formation of the Department of Homeland Defense; (4) holding government to the same standards expected of business; (5) turning internal national security over to police and not the military; (6) repealing the estate (death) tax; and (7) supporting abolishment of the federal income tax.
The Libertarian Party is pleased to support Walter Gengarelly in his bid to bring relief to Connecticut's overburdened residents who are tired of dealing with chronic overspending and over-regulation by our federal government.
