LARC Thanks the Community
By Patricia Rondano
On behalf of the individuals we support, their families, caregivers and staff, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to the Litchfield County community for supporting LARC’s first annual Bake and Tag Sale. We are truly delighted and grateful to the many volunteers who cleaned, sorted, donated and marked their "attic and garage treasures," the individuals who baked such delicious treats, and to the members of the community who came, ate and shopped. The event was a tremendous success.
We at LARC are fortunate to be located within a city where business and community come together in support of all its citizens. We are sincerely grateful to Big Lots, Blockbuster Video, Cost Cutters, Gunn Brook Farm, Libby’s Torrington Furniture, McDonald’s, Michael’s Jewelry, Rent-A-Center, Staples and Wal-Mart, who donated new items and gift certificates.
All funds raised will be used to create phase one of a Day Service Option (DSO) Computer Learning Center. DSO provides staffing and support for nearly 30 individuals with developmental disabilities on a daily basis. For more info on LARC’s supports and services, visit <www.litchfieldarc.org>.
