TORRINGTON: The Holy Rosary Society of St. Peter Church sponsors a Penny Auction in the St. Peter Church Hall, 107 East Main St.; doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the calling of numbers will begin at 7 p.m. In addition to the penny auction, there will be a 50/50 drawing and a raffle table, and refreshments will be served. Members are asked to drop off new items for the auction at the hall from 2:30-5:30 p.m. There will be a short meeting after the auction; members are asked to bring their knitted/ crocheted hats, etc. to the meeting.
