Greed Is Rowland’s Legacy
By Ned Coll, Barkhamsted

Hi, folks, friends and neighbors. I also have a special hi for Martin Gregor, a Barkhamsted neighbor, for his remarks against me [The Prayers of an Eccentric] in the September 6 issue of The Voice.

For almost 40 years of my life, I have worked as hard as possible to provide public service to my fellow citizens, including the poorest of the poor. I have walked almost 3,500 miles for more priests and prayer.

I am an honors graduate of Fairfield University, a Jesuit university located in Fairfield, CT. I was named one of the "Ten Outstanding Young Men in America" by the U.S. Jaycees. I am well known as an activist, and I believe I am a prophet. Invite me to your place of worship and see.

There is a "God." The Holy Bible is a map, which we are too lazy to read. I had my first of many mystical experiences on Pentecost Sunday, 1990. I went to the highest of church authorities. Prayer is the map. Put your Holy Bible on top of your television. Give God daily prayer on your knees and you will grow in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. This is the best kept secret in America. Our motto is "In God We Trust," but Satan and materialism have blocked this off.

I have a rosary from the Catholic Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in my hand. I openly wear it for grace every day.

A few years ago I carried out a protest in Hartford against John G. Rowland. He marched out of our State Capitol with six armored state troopers, whose salaries I help pay for. I swear the following: when he left the Capitol in the taxpayers' car he saw fit to give me "the finger." (That was before Enron and all the rest.) He is a bully. He tried to bully the woman moderator at the end of the first Curry-Rowland debate. You saw it. I saw it.

I know and respect many Republicans. I am a Democrat. I know Bill Curry and George Jepsen. Please believe me, they don't have the same mean-spiritedness demonstrated by John Rowland. I ask for your prayers. And I ask you to please take down those red, white and blue Rowland signs and put up signs for Curry; they represent honor.

By the way, I have challenged Senator Joe Lieberman to a debate. I'll put my career of 40 years of public service up against his newsletters any day.

Come home, voters—Democrats, Republicans and Independents. Curry represents human, non-cynical politics. John G. Rowland is the most evil force Connecticut politics has ever had. Who has he inspired? Greed is his legacy!
