Dedicated to Those He Serves
By Janet C. Gregg, Torrington

It is a genuine privilege for me to write to you on behalf of Michael Magistrali. I have known Michael since he played with the neighborhood kids, including mine, in an empty lot that was behind his grandmother's house and ours. He has come a long way since then, both personally and professionally.

He attended St. Peter's School and graduated from Torrington High School in 1971. His advanced education started close to home at the UConn branch in Torrington, which he attended for one year. Eventually he went on to Boston College, graduating in 1976 with a B.A. in English, magna cum laude. Then he attended Boston College Law School, and achieved his goal of becoming a full-fledged attorney in 1980. After serving as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Boston and Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, he returned to Torrington in 1985 to begin his local practice.

Judge Magistrali has become a respected and busy person on so many and varied projects, one wonders if he has a twin hidden away someplace that we don't know about. He has been involved in mental health issues, projects for the United Way, the City of Torrington and the Girl Scouts, and served as past president of the Rotary Club.

Judge Magistrali lives in Torrington with his wife, the former Robin Zappulla, and daughters Amelia, Alison, Maura and Felice. He is as dedicated to his family as he is to the people of Torrington and Goshen who are served by his court.

We can't afford to lose the service of someone like him in the position of Judge of Probate. His dedication, compassion, and personal demand for the highest ethical performance as our probate judge make him the only person for this job. I ask for your vote on his behalf to return him to his position.
