Christmas Decorating Contest in Torrington
With the holidays fast approaching, now is the time to start thinking about decorating your home for the 2002 Christmas Decorating Contest sponsored by the Torrington Recreation Department. Prizes will be awarded in two divisions: Commercial and Residential. In the Residential Division there are three categories: Christmas Display, Decorated Doorway, and Nativity Display. Judging will take place on Wednesday, December 18 from 6-9 p.m.
The volunteer judges from the Kiwanis Club may award prizes to any business or home in the City of Torrington. So be creative, get in the holiday spirit and enter this year’s contest. Let’s make Torrington shine and make this the best year ever for holiday viewing.
Residents of Torrington who are interested in entering their display in the contest may do so by calling the Recreation Department at 489-2274, or pick up an entry blank at 153 South Main St. All entries must be received no later than 3:30 p.m. on December 17.
