Arleen G. Keegan Retires

The Honorable Michael F. Magistrali, Judge of the Torrington/ Goshen Probate Court, has announced the retirement of the clerk of the court, Arleen G. Keegan, as of December 20. Mrs. Keegan began her career with the probate system as clerk of the Litchfield District Probate Court in January 1983, until her election as judge in 1987. During her tenure as judge she served on many Probate Assembly committees, including the executive board of the Assembly. She taught Probate Practice in the Legal Assistant program at Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury for eight years. Following the elections of 1998, she joined the Torrington Probate Court in January 1999 as an assistant clerk and was appointed clerk in January 2001.

She has been a resident of Northfield for 25 years and is married to Charles Keegan. The couple has three children: Martin of Manchester, CT; John of Arlington, VA; and Deborah Tucker of Winchester; and one grandson, Tyler Tucker.
