The W.L. Gilbert Trust Corporation is pleased to announce the establishment of a new endowed scholarship fund for the benefit of a graduating Gilbert School senior or alumnus planning to attend an accredited institution of higher learning.
Members of the Class of 1957 have come together over the past five years to raise more than $15,000 from classmates for the Vision 2002 Scholarship Fund. Spurred on by a challenge from the Class of 1947 to surpass funds they themselves raised for a similar fund in honor of their 50th reunion, this Class quickly went to work after their 40th reunion in 1997 and more than met that challenge. At their 45th reunion held in October, the results of their efforts were recognized when committee members Janet Hazzard Stack and Marlene John Davis enthusiastically presented a "check" to Patricia A. Bourque, Chair of the W.L. Gilbert School Corporation, and Thomas J. Botticelli, President of the W.L. Gilbert Trust Corporation.
This new scholarship fund will be available beginning in July of 2003. If you are interested in applying, please contact the Gilbert School Guidance Office for details.
