Thanks from an "Olde Timer"
By Michael M. Moskaluk, Bantam
"Olde Timers" such as myself may find time to flip through the pages of The Voice each week in search of Ursula B.G. Kilner’s column, "The News from Bird Bottom Farm." Mrs. Kilner’s ongoing series of nostalgic recollections of yesteryear’s events and personal experiences bring to mind similar situations and memorable personal encounters.
While I am somewhat familiar with Salisbury, Lakeville and Sharon as located in our extreme Northwest Corner of Connecticut, I have no idea where Bird Bottom Farm is. A goodly number of years ago, circa 1960-75, I was well acquainted with fellow members of the American Angus Association, not only in our state (Whitetail Angus Farm and Hedgerow Angus Farm), but also those located in nearby New York as well as throughout New England. Ah, yes—I remember them well. However, much water has flowed over the dam since.
Thank you, Ursula, for reminding us "Olde Timers" of days long past, and I take this opportunity to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year.
