RIVERTON: Riverton Grange holds its annual Christmas meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Grange Hall on Route 20. Dorothy O’Connor will present a program on poinsettias. Refreshments will be provided by Phyllis Bierce and Dolores Nast. All Grange members are welcome to visit the Riverton Grange and enjoy this evening.

TORRINGTON: Holy Trinity Church, 64 Berry St. (one block west of Migeon Ave.) holds its annual Kolach and Christmas Cookie Platter Sale from 9 a.m.-noon. In addition to the Christmas cookie platters, the kolach will be available in walnut, poppy seed, prune, and apricot-nut filling. CANAAN: North Canaan Congregational Church holds its annual Sunday School Christmas Pageant during its 10:15 a.m. worship service at the Pilgrim House on Granite Ave. Please join us as we re-experience the wondrous story of Jesus’ birth as presented by our Sunday school classes through word and song. AVON: Valley Community Baptist Church, 590 West Avon Rd. holds its Family Christmas Eve Service at 4:30 p.m.; oriented toward families and children, this service will be led by the children’s choirs. A Contemporary Service will be held at 7 p.m.; come worship the newborn king through favorite carols and hymns set to contemporary music led by the worship band and vocal teams. A Traditional Service at 9 p.m. will celebrate the significance of Christmas surrounded by candlelight and greenery; the adult choir and Victory Chimes will lead this service. EAST CANAAN: North Canaan Congregational Church holds its Christmas Eve services at the church. The first service begins at 7 p.m. and will include lessons and carols, along with special music by the church choir and soloists. The second service will be held at 11 p.m., and will include quiet reflection, scripture readings, carols and choir anthems.
