Helen Pepper Loomis Honored
Helen Pepper Loomis of Goshen was named Field Hockey Official of the Year at the recent AII-State Field Hockey Banquet at the Aqua Turf in Southington on December 3. Loomis has refereed the high school level of the sport for more than twenty years. She was recognized for her love of the game and her concern for the young people who play it. She was also named a member of the Litchfield High School Athletic Hall of Fame on November 29. In addition to officiating, she was also for many years a goalkeeper for the adult team called the Marvelous Mothers.
