Kristen Stewart Elected to Higher Education Advisory Committee
The Student Electoral Assembly of Connecticut’s community colleges has elected representatives and alternates to serve for two years on the Standing Advisory Committee to the Board of Governors for Higher Education, an advisory group comprised of students, faculty, administrators and trustees of the constituent units of Connecticut higher education. Among those elected is Kristen Stewart of Torrington, who will serve as the technical student representative to the panel.
Ms. Stewart enrolled at Naugatuck Valley Community College in the fall of 2001 in Electrical Engineering Technology, and after graduation wishes to transfer to complete a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. She is vice president of the Naugatuck Valley Chapter of the Electrical Engineering student organization, secretary of the Connecticut Solar Electric Racing Team club, a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and a student government club representative. She also volunteers at the Thomaston Opera House.
