Dan Kain at Canton Public Library
Dan Kain, feature reporter for the popular "Kain's World" segment on Channel 3 Eyewitness News, will speak on Thursday, January 16 at 7 p.m. at the Canton Public Library/ Community Center, 40 Dyer Ave. in Canton. "Kain's World" is an offbeat, satirical look at a range of news topics including movie reviews, local artists, history features, and anything else with an interesting twist.
Before Mr. Kain joined WFSB, he was an Adjunct Professor of Broadcast Writing at Boston University. Prior to that, Dan was an anchor for Playboy News in Los Angeles. He has also been a Peace Corps volunteer, a late night talk show host for WCVB-TV in Boston, editorial director for WFSB, and program director, news director, producer and environmental reporter for WGBY-TV in Springfield, MA.
Mr. Kain received his undergraduate degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, and masters degrees in Broadcasting and Film from Boston University, and Advanced Liberal Studies from Wesleyan University. He has received numerous industry awards including ten New England Emmy awards, a Chicago Emmy Award, an Ohio State Award, two New York International Film Festival Awards, and a Gabriel Award. He is a founding member of the board of governors of the New England Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Dan resides in Connecticut with his wife and their two sons.
