Meet the Truth
By Bob Davidson, Canton
In the December 20 issue of The Voice, there was a mock interview with President Bush [Meet President Bush, by Alan DiCara]. It was quite amusing. To each question asked of our president by the Democratic questioner, the president responded: "Attack Iraq." The following is a mock interview with the questioner.
Q: Good Morning, Alan. Welcome to Meet the Truth. You recently criticized President Bush for the position of the Republican administration on several issues. Would you now enlighten us on what your party is doing or has accomplished in the past to address these same issues?
A: Attack President Bush.
Q: Now that most Americans have endorsed the president's cautious approach to preventing Iraq from using biological, chemical and nuclear weapons, how will you Democrats respond?
A: Attack President Bush.
Q: Now that most informed investors realize that the economy started to go into a long tailspin during the last six months of the Clinton/ Gore administration, how can you convince them otherwise?
A: Attack President Bush.
Q: You seem focused on finding Osama bin Laden, while the president has faithfully focused on terrorism and kept Americans safe. How will you explain that during the 2004 election?
A: Attack President Bush.
Q: How can you explain your conclusion that America and its economy have lost their glory?
A: Attack President Bush.
Q: You have criticized President Bush for not feeding all starving nations, for problems with American schools, for various world conflicts, for losing the ozone layer, for lack of confidence in our defense establishment, for low Social Security payments, for Japan's financial problems, for lack of consumer confidence—and for just about everything but your negative attitude—that you judge to be wrong with America. How do you explain that your party, with almost forty years of control of our federal government, failed miserably to successfully address any of these issues to your satisfaction?
A: Attack President Bush.
On behalf of Meet the Truth, thank you, Alan.
