TORRINGTON: St. Francis Church invites those who believe in the protection of the unborn to a Holy Hour from 3-4 p.m. After this prayer time there will be a candlelight procession from St. Francis to St. Peters Church for a brief prayer. The group will then adjourn to St. Peters Hall for refreshments and a celebration of life.

LITCHFIELD: Wisdom House, 229 East Litchfield Rd. presents a Healing Service with Nigel Mumford at 6 p.m. Nigel Mumford is director of the Oratory of the Little Way in Gaylordsville and the author of "Hand to Hand: From Combat to Healing," a summary of his personal journey from a Royal Marine commando to a lay minister of healing. The service will offer an opportunity to gather with others to pray for healing of body, mind and spirit. There will be time for reflection, scripture, reading, personal prayer, and laying on of hands; the service will be followed by a reception. Suggested donation is $5; reservations are required.
