Enhancing Adult ESL Through Technology
Foothills Adult & Continuing Education, a program of Education Connection, is in its second year of an exciting new technology program which teaches English to ESL students. Students learn English using a computer and receive a keyboard (The Writer) on loan to practice keyboarding skills. Besides learning English, there is particular emphasis on developing skills in preparation for the workplace, receiving career guidance and exploring opportunities in technology-related careers.
"Enhancing Adult ESL Education Through Technology" is offered at five sites. In order to participate in this program, students must attend ESL through Foothills Adult & Continuing Education. A free computer will be given to the family or person with the best class attendance.
Registration will be held at Northwestern Regional High School in Winsted on Monday through Wednesday, January 27-29 from 6-7:30 p.m. ESL classes will begin at the Hinsdale Elementary School in Winsted on Monday, February 3, and the Technology classes will be held at Hinsdale beginning Tuesday, February 11 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. For more info call 800-300-4781, or 860-567-0863.
