Editor’s Note: Purifying the Soul
We regret that an unintended word somehow found its way into Florence Vining Thomen’s article "The Ultimate Solution" [January 17]. She most certainly does not endorse a concept of "end-of-the-soul." After discussing the futility of war and the ways that thousands of humans the world over have begun to "see the light," she closed her article with a paragraph that should have read:
Isn't all the above a beautiful, peace-giving, purifying-of-the-soul concept? A solution to no longer seek war, murder, revenge, jealous rage and such destructive action? Can we do a complete about-face, drop all our former beliefs and teachings and practices, and adapt ourselves to this new and revolutionary way of life—to live for peace and harmony, and love everyone?
