Cardinal Law’s Strong Faith
By Stanley J. Wosczyna, New Britain
I hope there are members in the Boston Archdiocese who are depressed because Cardinal Bernard Law was forced on December 13 to resign from his post as archbishop of the Boston Archdiocese—especially since he is a true follower of our Lord Jesus Christ, his Master.
It’s not surprising that when Cardinal Law was considering the future of the errant individual, he could not accept the world-correct option of hurriedly having the civil authorities take charge, with the result that he would become merely a spectator to the resulting proceedings. He instead decided to take a more humane part in the sordid affair.
I find it hard to believe that the law of our land dictates that the employer is to be held responsible for any misdeeds his employee commits. Such a law should be judged idiotic.
Cardinal Bernard Law can only be faulted for his strong faith and trust in the human race. Unfortunately, at the present time, he certainly is in the minority.
