New Dean of Academic Affairs at Tunxis
Tunxis Community College appointed Colleen Keyes as dean of academic affairs, in which she oversees academic policy initiatives, program and curriculum development, and faculty and student matters. Keyes joined Tunxis in 1994 as instructor of ESL/ developmental reading, and was most recently promoted to associate professor of ESL/ foreign language and chair of humanities before accepting a position as acting dean of academic affairs.
Keyes has 11 years of experience in higher education, and 19 in language education at levels ranging from elementary to adult. She holds M.A. degrees from Fairfield University and Hartford Seminary, and she is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at Hartford Seminary, where she has completed 52 credits in Islamic Studies and Muslim-Christian Relations.
