SALISBURY: Noble Horizons, 17 Cobble Rd. hosts HealthWise 2003 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. This family community health fair will feature free tests and screenings plus a wide variety of demonstrations and presentations on healthy lifestyles. On-site child care will be provided by the Housatonic Day Care Center so that parents may take full advantage of the health fair. SALISBURY: Salisbury Lions Club sponsors a free Eye Screening from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Wagner Learning Center at Noble Horizons. This screening, conducted by professionals, is designed for adults (over 18) and will detect early stages of glaucoma or diabetes-related eye diseases. Those who are most at risk for glaucoma are those over age 45, African-Americans, and people with a family history of glaucoma or trauma to the eyes. Those at risk for diabetic retinopathy are people who have diabetes and who have not had a recent eye examination. FARMINGTON: Tunxis Community College, Routes 6 & 177 offers a talk on "Colon Cancer Prevention" in Whit's Place cafeteria at 11:30 a.m. Colorectal cancer is the nation's second greatest cancer-killer. A physician will talk about the risk factors for colon cancer and steps you can take to prevent this disease. Home testing kits will also be available free of charge.
