GOSHEN: Church of Christ Congregational holds a Pancake Breakfast from 8-11 a.m. to help support the PF group with its mission trip to the Dominican Republic. Cost is $5 adults, $3 children (under 12).

LITCHFIELD: Community Center activities—table tennis club for ages 10-16 (call 567-8302 to register) from 9 a.m.-noon; Warner Theatre drama group from 1-4 p.m.; P.V. O'Donnell and Vinnie Ringrose present an Evening of Irish Song and Story ($10 in advance, $12 at door) at 8 p.m.

LITCHFIELD: Litchfield Grange meets at 7:30 p.m. at the Grange Hall on Route 202, when Mountain County Pomona #4 Deputy George Russell will visit. The evening will begin with a corned beef dinner at 6 p.m. for Grange members only; cost of $3 includes corned beef, cabbage, carrots, potatoes and homemade pies.

Sunday, March 30

CANTON: Canton Public Library, 40 Dyer Ave. hosts a presentation by Children in Placement from 2-4 p.m. The mission of Children in Placement is to facilitate effective judicial review of children and families involved in court proceedings where neglect and abuse are alleged. The organization trains volunteers to serve as advocates for abused and neglected children. As the court-appointed advocate for a child, the volunteer’s job is to talk with those involved in a child’s case and help the judge determine the course of action that is best for the child. Cassandra Porcaro-Roach, a Coordinator with Children in Placement who works with the Superior Court, Juvenile Matters in Torrington, will be available to show a brief (7-minute) video and to answer questions about the program.
