It's Happening All Over the Country

Thanks for publishing Martin Gregor's article [Imported Cheap Labor Displacing American Professionals, February 14]. The author is absolutely right. Americans are losing their jobs to cheaper imported labor and it is happening all over the country. It happened to my husband here in North Carolina. He and his coworkers lost their computer programming jobs to labor imported from India. They had to train their replacements in order to receive severance pay.
Greedy corporations want to benefit from the American infrastructure, the stable government, laws favorable to businesses, the power and protection of the U.S. military, and the American consumer market. But they do not want to contribute to a healthy American economy by hiring Americans. Anyone who doesn't recognize the danger in allowing American corporations to open up the domestic labor market to a worldwide supply of cheaper labor is living in a dream world.
