For the 24th year, the Farmington Valley Arts Center and its resident studio artists welcome art admirers, collectors and sophisticated shoppers to a free Candlelight Opening on Friday, November 2 from 6-9 p.m. Visitors will enjoy live music, complimentary refreshments, twenty open artist studios, and art for sale in two galleries. Guests who follow the luminary-lit paths and walkways at this haven for artistic happenings will discover a variety of thoughtfully handmade products and have the opportunity to meet talented and inventive artists. Excitement and anticipation filled the air as I dressed in my violet-tone outfit, my escort's favorite color. After our usual warm greeting and a lovely little gift for me, we headed toward the sunset on our way to a delightful evening of pleasure. The afterglow covered the darkening sky with remnants of gold. As we approached our destination, my excitement grew. There was the imposing entrance to the Interlaken Inn in Salisbury, where we looked with great anticipation to a fabulous repast with all the trimmings, and a very romantic and sentimental atmosphere.
