Festivals and Sales

The Auxiliary Thrift Shop, 115 Spencer St. in Winsted holds a STOREWIDE HALF-PRICE SALE through Saturday, November 3. Business hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturday from 9:30 a.m.- noon. Proceeds from the thrift shop are used for the benefit of community health.

Founders Congregational Church, Route 4 in Harwinton presents its annual CHRISTMAS BAZAAR on Friday, November 2 from 4:30-8:30 p.m.; and Saturday, November 3 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Soup and sandwiches will be served both days. There will also be a bake sale, knitted and sewn goods, Christmas decorations, stuffed animals, wreaths and more.

First United Methodist Church, 21 Fern Drive in Torrington presents a HOLIDAY FAIR on Saturday, November 3 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be crafts, home-baked goods, a silent auction, and more.

Saint John's Episcopal Church, Route 44 (on the Pine Meadow Green) in New Hartford presents its HOLIDAY FAIR on Saturday, November 3 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Visit the Christmas Room filled with the smell of holly and shining lights and the sound of Christmas carols. The bake shop offers jam, jellies, pies, cakes, cookies and breads. There will be a "gifts by chance" table with baskets filled with teas, coffee or children's goodies, fine craft items, and a Victorian table set with fine china and lace table cloth all arranged to display the Tea Cup Auction. Luncheon specials will be available from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Congregational Church of Burlington, Route 4 in Burlington holds its annual CHRISTMAS FAIR on Saturday, November 3 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The fair will feature a wide variety of crafters, perfect gifts, and a bake sale. A luncheon will be served from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Four Corner Circle of the First Congregational Church, Route 4 & Riverside Ave. in Torrington holds its HOLIDAY FAIR on Saturday, November 3 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The event will feature homemade bakery items, sewing, crafts, cards, attic treasures, Granville cheese and cutlery, and vintage jewelry. Light lunch will be served at noon.

David M. Hunt Library, Main St. in Falls Village holds its monthly BOOK SALE on Saturday, November 3 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. For more info call 860-824-7424.

Immaculate Conception Women's Guild presents a CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR on Saturday, November 3 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Pine Meadow Firehouse, Route 44 in New Hartford.

Goshen Garden Club holds its annual HOLIDAY BAZAAR on Saturday, November 3 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Church of Christ Congregational, Routes 4 & 63 in Goshen. Handmade crafts, plants, attic treasures and luncheon will be available.

North Canaan Congregational Church holds its annual CALICO FAIR on Saturday, November 3 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Pilgrim House, Granite Ave. in Canaan. Featured will be a homemade luncheon of soups, sandwiches and luscious desserts. Articles for sale will include beautiful handmade crafts, baked goods, Christmas decorations, white elephant items, toys, books, jewelry and more.

Church of Christ Congregational, Route 4 in Norfolk sponsors a community-wide HOLIDAY SHRIMP SALE on Sunday, November 4 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Habitat for Humanity. Hevreh of Southern Berkshire, 270 State Rd. in Great Barrington holds its annual BOOK FAIR AND MITZVAH MARKETPLACE on Sundays, November 4 and November 11 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. An outstanding selection of Jewish books for both young and older readers may be ordered for pick-up on December 2. Attractive Mitzvah cards representing a donation to a worthy organization, available in denominations of $2-$20, may also be ordered. Concepts of Art, Limited, a Judaica store in Lenox, will have a satellite shop open in Hevreh’s lobby. Also, there will be a bake sale on November 4 only. Auxiliary for Community Health Thrift Shop, 115 Spencer St. in Winsted opens its CHRISTMAS SHOPPE on Tuesday, November 6 at 10 a.m. This traditional annual sale features many nearly new items, including gifts, jewelry, clothing for men, women and children, stocking stuffers, kitchen items, Christmas decorations, linens, toys, stuffed animals, sports items, wreaths and many other articles. This is the last sale before the shop closes on December 8 for the winter months. The shop is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturday from 9:30 a.m.-noon.

Cherry Brook Grange, Route 179 in North Canton presents its 19th annual CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR on Thursday, November 8 from 3-8 p.m.; Friday, November 9 from 9 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Saturday, November 10 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Craftspeople from the Farmington Valley will be displaying and selling their work.

Barkhamsted School PTO is looking for crafters, bakers, artists, etc. to participate in a craft show as part of its BREAKFAST WITH SANTA program at the Barkhamsted School on Saturday, December 8 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Spaces cost $10; for more info call 860-738-9029.
