Excited About Baxter-Jones Ticket

As you are probably aware, I am running unopposed for the position of Tax Collector on the Baxter-Jones ticket. I appreciate the support and vote of confidence given me by the townspeople of New Hartford. However, I am not writing to you about my own candidacy in this election.

I have been a resident of New Hartford for 31 years and have served as your Tax Collector for 15 of them through four different administrations. I have seen New Hartford grow from a small town with a $2 million annual budget to the present $15+ million annually. Over the years I have been involved as a volunteer in various town organizations as my three children went through the school system. Currently I am a volunteer EMT with New Hartford Ambulance with 16 years of service. I think New Hartford is one of the prettiest towns I have ever seen, and no matter where I travel, it is always good to come home again. I care about New Hartford and its future.

I am excited about the candidates running on the Baxter-Jones ticket this year and am asking for your support for Bill Baxter as First Selectman and Chris Jones as Selectman. I believe that New Hartford will need strong management and human resource skills to weather the challenging years ahead, and Bill and Chris have the experience and background to do the job that needs to be done. They have the knowledge and ability to change our town government from "reactive" to "active," as they know the importance of listening to you, the "customers" of town government. They have the desire to see New Hartford residents join together, no matter what political preferences they may have, and work side by side to make this a town we can all be proud to be a part of. I believe that Bill and Chris can accomplish all of this, and they have put together a slate of candidates that they feel will help them reach their goals.

I am asking you to cast your vote for the Baxter-Jones ticket on November 6. It's time we put New Hartford first!
