My name is Christopher Cook and I am a candidate for the Board of Public Safety on the Democratic slate in the upcoming election in the City of Torrington. I want the people of Torrington to know some of the ways I have been preparing myself for this position. More ... I am running for the City Council in the City of Torrington as a Republican candidate on the Jerram team. I believe that it is time to start running this city as a business. We have been incorporated since 1923 and we have yet to run as a corporation. We need to have all of the city departments answering to the same head. You cannot run a successful corporation when some of the departments are running independently of the others. The only way to change that is for the Charter Revision Committee to make recommendations to the City Council and then go to referendum so that the public may decide what is best for their city. More ... On July 24 I asked the question, "Who is Tom Jerram?" Over the past 100 days my campaign for mayor of Torrington has worked hard to answer that question. We have also provided the voters with a platform that returns government to the people and addresses serious issues facing this city. As you go to the polls on Election Day, please considered what our team would like to accomplish. More ... When this campaign for mayor of Torrington started, I was encouraged that no matter who won, it would be an improvement over what we have now. More ... I am a lifelong resident of Torrington, residing on Cookes Ridge with my wife Brenda and son Tyler. More ... This is my first time ever running as a candidate in any political office, although politics is not new to me.
